LS-1217

LS-1217 is a generative collage art series that ruminates on the female form and its representations within a digital context. The model’s tattoo is the inspiration for the name — LS-1217 is the model number of the sewing machine she used growing up. The number motif evokes uncomfortable questions around cataloguing, mark making and how value is stored. The model presents herself in classical sculptural stances inspired by statues of Greek and Roman goddesses. The juxtaposition of the numbering, the iterative and generative presentation and these iconic stances creates relationships around what it means to be a female as a form.
